Underground Utilities

About the Division

The Underground Utilities Division is responsible for maintaining the underground water distribution system and the vast network of sanitary sewer and storm sewer mains throughout the City. Maintenance includes:

  • Flushing, root cutting, and televising the City's sewer lines.
  • Rebuilding and/or replacing manholes.
  • Repairing water mains, distribution valves, fire hydrants, and buffalo boxes.
  • Maintaining three sanitary lift stations within the City.
  • Fats, Rags, Oils, and Grease (FROG) maintenance and preventative methods. 
  • Assisting residents with sanitary complaints and/or emergencies. 
  • Maintaining the City's storm sewer infrastructure and investigating drainage problems. 
  • Storm outfall and MS4 permit inspections and maintenance.
