Project Information
The work to be performed consists of storm sewer improvements, curb and gutter removal and replacement, sidewalk removal and replacement, asphalt pavement removal, roadway base reclamation and stabilization, asphalt pavement replacement, parking bay improvements, pavement markings, and parkway restoration.

HOW WILL I KNOW WHEN I WILL BE AFFECTED BY CONSTRUCTION?
This project is scheduled to begin on or about May 1, 2023. Residents will receive construction notices in advance of each stage of construction.
WILL I HAVE ACCESS TO MY DRIVEWAY?
Residents should expect to be displaced from their driveways for 5-7 days during the concrete improvements phase of the project (curb and sidewalk removal and replacement). Residents displaced from their driveways will receive on-street parking permits along with the construction notices. These notices may include specific instructions on where to park your vehicle. Generally, on-street parking within the construction zone will be prohibited from 6:30am to 6pm.
WHAT IF I HAVE SPECIAL ACCESS REQUIREMENTS?
Residents should contact the City of Rolling Meadows Public Works Department at (847) 963-0500. The City will do its best to accommodate residents with specific special needs so long as we are informed in advance and can coordinate with the Contractor.
WILL MY WATER BE SHUT OFF?
No, there are no municipal water system improvements proposed for this project. Should the water need to be shut-off for any reason due to construction, notification will be provided in advance.
WILL MY GARBAGE BE PICKED UP?
Yes, your scheduled weekly pickup for garbage and recycling will be maintained. Please have containers ready for pickup prior to 6:30am.
WILL I RECEIVE MAIL DURING THE COURSE OF CONSTRUCTION?
Yes, mail delivery will not be affected during construction.
HOW LONG WILL THIS PROCESS TAKE TO COMPLETE?
The project is expected to be substantially complete by early September.

Weekly Project Updates:
7/24/2023: The Project is substantially complete. Punch list items for parkway restoration have been submitted to the contractor. New street signs will be installed in the weeks to follow.
