In 2015, the Rolling Meadows Fire Department, in conjunction with a Fire Prevention and Safety Grant from the Federal Emergency Management Association (FEMA), received a grant to preform a safety survey and install free smoke and carbon monoxide detectors for senior citizen residents of Rolling Meadows.
