Would you like to be a volunteer for the RMPD?

The demands on local law enforcement have increased dramatically over the past several years. As a result, the already limited resources of our agency are being stretched further than ever, at a time when the community needs every available officer out on the beat. In many jurisdictions around the country, volunteers in the community have offered their time and skills to their local police department. These citizen volunteers help supplement and support officers and civilian personnel by allowing them to concentrate on their primary duties.

A variety of volunteers give their valuable free time to help the RMPD  with a variety of tasks including:

  • CERT Training -- The police department announces Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and Citizen Police and Fire Academy Training.

  • Conducting the annual citizen survey,

  • Answering telephones at our PNRC,

  • Assisting in the Children’s Holiday Program, and

  • Enforcing local handicap parking and traffic ordinances.

Call Commander Tom Calcagno at 847-870-9042 for information on how you may volunteer your time with the Rolling Meadows Police Department.
