Rolling Meadows operates several types of radio systems. 

The Police Department uses a conventional analog semi-duplex two-way 800 MHz radio system. The output (repeated) frequency is 860.2125.

A secondary channel is used for coordination among City departments. Its frequency is 155.865 MHz. This channel is a conventional analog simplex channel.

The police 911 Center monitors the Illinois State Police Emergency Radio Network (ISPERN), also known as the National Law Enforcement Emergency Frequency (NLEEF) 155.475 MHz. and Point-To-Point 155.370 MHz.

The 911 Center dispatches for the Fire Department. The primary radio frequency is 154.205. This is a conventional analog simplex channel. A second frequency to monitor is the Northern Illinois Fire Emergency Radio Network (NIFERN/IFERN) 154.265 MHz.. This is the frequency the Mutual Aid Box Alarm System (MABAS) uses for major incidents such as big fires, catastrophes, major incidents. 154.3025 is planned as IFERN-2.

Public Works also uses conventional analog simplex channel of 155.940 MHz.
