Telecommunicator PART-TIME TELECOMMUNICATIONS OPERATOR (DISPATCHER) The Rolling Meadows Police Department, IL is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Part-Time Telecommunications Operator (Dispatcher). Responsibilities include: dispatching all requests for Police, Fire, Medical and ESDA services for the City from 911 telephone system; coordinate responses by emergency services personnel; responsible for dissemination, data entry and file maintenance of all calls for service (emergency, non-emergency, traffic and service-related activities); performs visual security monitoring of Department’s jail facilities and secured building entrances; and other work that may be assigned pertinent to this job classification. I want to know more about the Rolling Meadows 9-1-1 Center. Part-time Telecommunicators receive the same training a full-time Telecommunicator receives, and functions as a full-time Telecommunicator. Telecommunicators undergo 12-16 weeks of in-house and outside vendor training. This position will be working approximately 30 hours a week. The 9-1-1 Center is a 24 hour/7-day a week/365 days a year operation. Part-time Telecommunicators can expect to work flexible hours during any of three shifts or portions thereof:
Full-time Telecommunicators work a permanent (annually selected) shift 5 days on, 2 days off, 5 days on, 3 days off work schedule. Part-time Telecommunicators work various hours and have a minimum of 30 days notice, except for emergency callout. The 911 Center uses the following equipment:
