Rolling Meadows Police Department Replaces Current Software with New World Systems’ Aegis/MSP Public Safety Software

Troy, Michigan, January 28, 2003 — New World Systems, a leading provider of enterprise-wide software solutions for the public sector, announced that the Rolling Meadows, IL Police Department signed a contract for New World’s services and Aegis®/MSP Public Safety software on the Windows® platform.

Rolling Meadows Police Department licensed New World’s suite of integrated software, including multi-jurisdictional Aegis/MSP Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), Records Management, Mobile Computing, Field Reporting and several additional modules.

“For the past two years, we tried to implement an integrated Mobile Computing and Field Reporting solution with the vendor we are replacing,” said Support Services Coordinator Linda Luehring, Rolling Meadows Police Department. “The vendor could not convert the system to the Windows platform and because it lacked integration, we began evaluating New World’s software to meet our needs.”

Rolling Meadows’ Chief of Police Steven Williams was familiar with New World and its software from his prior position as deputy chief at Lombard, IL Police Department, which has been a satisfied New World customer since 1985. The Department is looking forward to implementation and feels secure in the decision to partner with New World.

Purchasing a true Windows system was a key requirement because of its lower cost of ownership, end-user familiarity and because it meets the skill-set of the Department’s personnel. The other major condition was purchasing a total solution that was truly and seamlessly integrated.

“New World will provide us with the complete, integrated solution that we are looking for,” said Luehring. “It will eliminate redundant data entry, streamlining the data entry process and providing critical, real-time information quickly to officers in the field. The Aegis/MSP Records Management system will also enhance investigations by providing detectives with a vast amount of information at their fingertips.”

The licensing of New World’s Mobile Computing and Field Reporting will also provide Rolling Meadows with the solution it has wanted for two years. Officers will be able to write reports from the field immediately after an incident, and then wireless transfer the report from the vehicle to a supervisor for approval before it is submitted into the Records Management database. The Department will benefit from more accurate and timely reports.

As a Microsoft Certified Partner, New World has committed the development resources required to build and deploy robust solutions designed for government agencies. Aegis/MSP was developed using proven Microsoft technology and features a Windows user-interface, industry standard Windows 2000 Server and SQL Server 2000 database.

New World’s software will help over 55 officers, 48 firefighters and EMS personnel provide enhanced service to 23,200 citizens and answer over 20,000 calls for service a year. Software implementation will begin immediately.
